An interesting assumption among people is that the more you have the happier you are. While “having” makes life more convenient or at least more comfortable, it is not a means to happiness per se. That’s not to say that it’s not worth having, as it can be a means of great good. This interesting combination is seen in the number of wealthy people who give great amounts of time and money to causes they believe in. But the power, influence, and entrance wealth brings can just as easily breed excesses and abuses, as is seen with the behavior of those whose wealth and/or fame was explosive. What’s interesting is that often both extremes are caused by the same desire, the desire for happiness and contentment, with the all too familiar lack of satisfaction and fulfillment.
Peter Parker’s Uncle Ben (aka Spiderman) was right when he said: “With great power comes great responsibility.”
What does this have to do with luxury homes? Well as you may have gleaned from my site, I believe the home you buy is more than just a place to live; it’s a place to pursue your lifestyle. Understanding what drives that pursuit is important if you’re going to reach the higher goal of contentment.
