EARLY DAYS
Mr. Sweeney was born and raised in New York City. He lived on the Upper East Side of Manhattan on Park and 5th Avenues, and had country homes in the Hamptons and Upstate NY. His family still owns homes there and in Palm Beach, Florida.
He was a banker for 20 years working for Citicorp and Merrill Lynch, where he finished this part of his career as Vice President of Bank Operations. He was relocated to New Jersey in 1986 with his wife and two children, and has resided there ever since.
