Seller’s Agency

For the same reason that you want to use a buyer’s agent when buying a home, you do want to use a seller’s agent when selling a home. A seller’s agent has fiduciary responsibility to sell your home at the highest price and in the shortest time. Also, selling is a local function, meaning that it is best done by a local Realtor®. This is partially because of licensing and multiple listing service considerations, but also because you need someone who can provide personal attention and arrange for local services, as needed.

In the luxury home market not all agents are equal. You need an agent who knows the luxury market. Luxury homes are not usually sold through the local newspaper, and not all Internet sites are equal. Here is where an agent’s credentials are especially important. Members of The Institute for Luxury Home Marketing are agents who have been trained and who work in the luxury home market. Experience is also a key. You want someone who has sold in this high-end market before, multiple times.
